Crime: Yamamoto Shouichi was arrested in 2020 under the Child Pornography Prohibition Act and was convicted via summary procedure and his manga Operation Fallen Angel stopped with no public disclosure of his arrest or crime.
In 2022, he was knowingly rehired by MANGA ONE under the alias “Ichiro Hajime” to write the series Ordinary Person Mask with the same editorial team. The artist for the series, Tsuruyoshi Eri, was unaware of his status until the story broke in 2026 after he lost a civil trial and faced a judgement of 11,000,000¥.
