Portrait of Rosalind

(from ebookjapan):
"Portrait of Rosalind": Edward, a New Yorker student, inherits an old castle in the remote mountains of London from his uncle. The castle, which is said to have been built by the Earl of Landseer for his wife Rosalind, is a beautiful work of art with ornate workmanship. The castle had an unopened room associated with Rosalind, the former mistress of the castle. Edward opens the door to the room, not caring that Sarah, the caretaker of the castle, stops him. In the room hangs a stunning portrait of a noble and beautiful woman.

"The Bride of Randolph": Claudia is an ambitious girl with a yearning for society. One day, an upper-class lady asks Claudia to talk to a young man named Randolph, who is having a mental breakdown and is hallucinating. His hallucination is of his dead fiancée, Regina, a girl who looked exactly like Claudia. It's a little dubious, but Randolph's good looks in the photograph are enough to move Claudia's heart. She decided to enter Weyerhaeuser's mansion on the shore of the lake, thinking it would be a more interesting experience than she usually had during the summer.

This is a double feature of gorgeous works in which mysterious events take place in gorgeous old castles and chalk pavilions. The beautifully rendered fairy tale-like images invite you into the worlds of the stories!
