King Robo

A super robot that surpasses Eight-Man!
1963, the year when Japan's first TV anime series was born. At a time when children all over Japan were excited about the exploits of Astro Boy and Tetsujin 28-go, Jiro Kuwata, the creator of 8 Man created another super robot. That was ``King Robo,'' which was serialized in Shonen King.

While 8 Man runs on the ground at super speed, King Robo flies freely through the air with the rockets on his back and belt. What's revolutionary is his arms, which can separate from his body and transform into a micro-jet plane depending on the situation, and his legs, which can be used as special drills to pierce even hard rocks. Although it is life-sized, it can be said to be a precursor to later shrunken down combined robots.

A clear difference from 8 Man is that he does not have an electronic brain of his own, but rather operates by being possessed by a gaseous alien. In modern terms, it is a mobile suit worn by Alien King in order to fight. For this reason, Alien King uses two types of robots: a combat type (King Robo) and a humanoid robot.

It is unusual for Kuwata's works to not have an original author attached, but that allows you to truly enjoy the charm of Kuwata's world. This book includes the complete manuscript published at that time! This is a book that is definitely recommended.
