Synopsis
Claudia Nicholas is the villainess of an otome game, although she doesn't know it. At a royal soirée, Claudia is suddenly accused of bullying another girl and has her engagement to Fourth Prince Lyfons Abercrombie publicly broken off. With nowhere she feels she belongs and only a magical mirror to confide in, Claudia falls into despair. Then she finds a spellbook. Ignoring her mirror's attempts to stop her, Claudia impulsively casts a mysterious spell, only for something completely unexpected to happen.
Her luxurious Western-style bedroom transforms into a tiny four-and-a-half-tatami Japanese room. Her elegant dress becomes a tracksuit. Her magical mirror turns into a smartphone. And when she opens the door, she discovers modern Japan on the other side. Initially bewildered by this bizarre "other world," Claudia quickly falls in love with Japanese life and all of its unfamiliar comforts. For the disgraced noblewoman who had nowhere left to belong, her tiny tatami room becomes a secret refuge where nobody knows or cares that she is supposed to be a villainess. Then Lyfons comes to apologize. He is just as fascinated by Japan as Claudia, and before long he uses the same magic to create a room of his own right next door.
Having reconciled as childhood friends, the former fiancés begin secretly traveling back and forth between their fantasy world and modern Japan. And they aren’t the only ones capable of crossing between worlds. As reincarnators, characters from other game-like worlds, samurai soldiers and assassins begin appearing, Claudia's humble Japanese hideaway becomes the center of an increasingly bizarre collection of interdimensional visitors.
